David Beckham And Ewan McGregor Pledge Snaps For UNICEF Campaign

UNICEF Ambassadors David Beckham, Ewan McGregor and Cat Deeley have given their support to the charity to mark the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
To raise awareness of the anniversay and children’s rights UNICEF have collaborated with the World Photography Awards, and each celeb has chosen a photo from their visits to poor countries for the Unicef ‘photo pledge’ campaign, to illustrate their view of the fundamental rights of a child.
Beckham chose an image from his visit to Sierra Leone which shows him meeting a mother with a malnourished child at a feeding centre to illustrate his belief in the child’s right to good health. He said of his image: “Every child has the right to be healthy. We can’t turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world, mostly from causes that are preventable.”
Ewan’s chosen image features youngsters at a childcare centre in Malawi.

Others who have chosen images include presenter Cat Deeley, Jamie Cullum, James Nesbitt and Jemima Khan.
The World Photography Awards and UNICEF are also asking members of the public to pledge photos portraying one of the five fundamental rights of a child to show their support of the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Pledge your photo here at the World Photography Awards website.
